Been too long! Hello from Colorado!

Hello to my friends and followers!! Thank you for dropping by! I have not updated my site in quite a while. I do tend to update more on my instagram and facebook pages.

Since moving to Arvada, CO (just outside Denver), I've had the opportunities to shoot a few shows, including Lamb of God and Corrosion of Conformity at breath-taking Red Rocks last May. Also had the pleasure of photographing The Happy Hollows, Devour the Day, 3 Doors Down, Kyng, Clutch and Zakk Sabbath since living in Colorado.

Looking forward to the rest of the year and booking new gigs!

Cheers,

Lyle

Two nights with Theory of a Deadman!

It's difficult to find the words to describe how nice and down to earth (and hilarious) the guys are. Their music and live show is equally entertaining.

I've had the pleasure of knowing them since the first tour of America way back, so needless to say I've photographed them more than any band (unofficially. Gotta check on that!) I wanted to visit with a friend of mine at the show Tuesday in Jackson, MS, so I did not request photo credentials, and just watched the show and enjoyed watching for once without a camera with me! IT WAS NICE :)

However, the next night I went with two other friends (slowly trying to visit with as many as I can before I move.) I asked if I could shoot some and the guys were cool with it. I brought one camera and decided I needed to try and do what I could with one camera in the first three songs like most have too. It must be said though, given full/ all-access to shoot the entire show from anywhere is so much better and allows for so many more options and images.

I had a blast shooting and hanging out with the guys and my friends.

Lots to tell!

Been a few since my last post! Quickly, I want to let it be known I'm relocating to Denver the first week of November. I am super excited about changing scenery and feel awesome, re-invigorated!

Lately, I haven't been shooting too much. However, I did get to photograph Billy Idol in Biloxi last Saturday. I last saw Billy Idol in Milwaukee in 2007(I think) and it was amazing! He is a true rock n roll entertainer. Happy to report nothing has changed, if not he's even better! If you ever get a chance make sure to go see him!

I may be shooting some shows before I go. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read and check out my blog and work.

Cheers!

Rock N Roll in Atlanta!

This past weekend I traveled to Atlanta to catch Faith No More with Refused on Thursday night at Masquerade Music Park, then Friday night Shinedown and Nothing More played at the Tabernacle.

From the moment I arrived at the venue's secured lot to catch the shuttle, I had a feeling it would be a great night. The shuttles were school buses, and mine happened to not be air conditioned. Brought back memories of when I started discovering music on my own, with Faith No More being one of them.

Refused kicked off the night with a great set. The Swedish band's frontman Dennis Lyxzen told of how the band actually broke up in Atlanta years ago. He also noted the band started another tour three years ago in Atlanta, and the day before this show and that other tour they caught Slayer in Atlanta. They jammed on "South of Heaven," if I'm not mistaken...

Faith No more came out, when it was still daylight. They were under a 10p.m. curfew since the area has been built up and now surrounded by apartments and condos.

They were on fire from the start, opening with "Motherfucker" from the new album, Sol Invictus, and the crowd went nuts. I won't bore you with my review. The link to my images should be up in the next few days on the website I was shooting for that night.

Friday saw me and a friend heading to Shinedown and Nothing More at the Tabernacle. It was a sold out show too, and the long line around the venue killed our chance of seeing Nothing More.

Shinedown came onstage around 9:15, walking out with the house lights on and playing about half a song like that.  But when the lights kicked in, they kicked in 100%! These guys just get tighter each time I see them.

Then it was back home. Needless to say I was a little tired yesterday, but it was a great weekend!
