I love my job! Everyday is a little different and I meet so many wonderful people in my travels, and get to work with some amazing people and work on projects I only dreamed I would.
Made in Mobile a few decades ago, I did not pick up a camera until high school and even then, it was not as "a photographer." In 1991, I attended my first concert, Drivin' 'NCryin' at the Mobile Auditorium. A few weeks later I saw Guns 'N Roses/ Soundgarden, and two months later, Metallica. While in college, I got the chance to photograph Metallica. Unfortunately, there was a communications breakdown and I showed up with a tape recorder thinking I had an interview. I did have my point and shoot and shot a few frames until the camera rewound, and then I pretended to take photos so I could stay right next to the stage and Metallica. It was an adrenaline high and I still get it at every concert!
After graduating college with a journalism degree, I realized I did not want to dig dirt on politicians as much as I enjoyed shooting live music, and the occasional news story. Eventually, this led me to learn more about studio lighting and photography in general, and jobs with magazines and newspapers across the world, which brings us to today.
